Yeti Just Dropped Its First-Ever Phone Cases, And They Look Incredible

2 min readYeti has just ventured into exciting new territory—phone cases. The brand just released cases for the iPhone Pro 17 and 18 and the iPhone Pro 17 and 18 Max. The hardshell case retails for $70.If you couldn’t already tell, we’re pretty big Yeti fans over here. I’ve personally covered essentially every Yeti product known to man, from its hardshell outdoor coolers to its insulated Ramblers (I have the Knicks Championship one, and I basically sleep with it). It did deviate from its usual line of insulated products, but in a way that feels very on-brand—iPhone cases.Yeti’s latest venture isn’t its most expansive one—for now, the $70 line extends only to the iPhone 17 and 18 Pro and Pro Max counterparts. But it’s a step in the right direction. This is a steep departure from Yeti’s usual gear but when you break it down, it makes all the sense in the world. The cases are designed with useful outdoor practicality in mind.“Yeti's first entry into the iPhone case market is impressive,” Senior Tech Editor Stefan Vazarhov says. “I like the accessory's characterful design with contrasting color accents and its integrated viewing stand.”We haven’t had the chance to test these personally, but if they’re half as rugged as its ultra-durable coolers, packs, and water bottles, they already pass our sniff test. It looks almost like a sleeker OtterBox, and the specs back that up. The cases offer three protective layers, along with extra cushioning in key sensitive areas. Like the OtterBox, it features military-grade MIL-STD-810H drop protection with minimal bulk. Raised rubber bezels offer non-slip grip and shockproof edges. You could also get away with using it sans a screen protector, which is always nice. Here’s the real kicker—pun intended. It comes with a rotating, MagSafe-compatible kickstand that allows you to prop up your phone on a whim. Photographers and serial mobile Netflix-bingers, you’re on the clock. And like most Yeti products, it’s made for the great outdoors. Yeti says the ultra-responsive buttons offer more control and sensitivity, which always comes in clutch when you’re wearing gloves or your hands are too cold to type legibly. The cases also feature tie-down slots so you can attach a lanyard or wrist tether and reduce the chance of drops in high-octane settings.Of course, it wouldn’t be a Yeti product without a boatload of colors to choose from. You can go with the classic all-black, but there are a few more fun designs, including Yeti Rambler staples like King Crab Orange and Dusk. We can’t point you in the right direction in that regard, though; it has to speak to you. More to come on testing.Other iPhone Cases We LoveTim Kohut is the Deals and Trends Editor for Popular Mechanics, Men’s Health, Best Products, and Runner's World.
