Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was one of 2025’s best games and one of the best third-party releases ever to join Game Pass day-and-date. Players have now had over a year to finish the turn-based RPG, but for any subscribers who haven’t yet taken the plunge, time is running out. The GOTY winner is leaving Game Pass on October 15. That leaves you just under two weeks to go and complete the journey or start it from scratch. You can rush the main story to clear it in under 30 hours, but if you want to mine all of the expanded content, a completionist run will take you more than twice that. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the rare JRPG-inspired games that’s managed to break through in the modern era to a broader audience, in part thanks to its novel dodge and parry mechanics which inject some fresh energy into the usual turn-based grind. It’s also worth making it all the way through to hit the twist ending. But Clair Obscur is also not the only great game leaving Game Pass this month. The full list includes: The Casting of Frank Stone Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Crime Scene Cleaner Donut County Evil West Superball Nova Roma (Game Preview) Pacific Drive A Plague Tale Requiem Pacific Drive and A Plague Tale Requiem are both excellent, especially for the spooky month. The former is a sci-fi survival crafting game about navigating a zone full of strange anomalies with a haunted station wagon. The latter is about surviving a late medieval Europe infested with disease carrying rats. Donut County, on the other hand, is a light hearted puzzle game you can finish in just a few hours that is still one of my favorite indie games of all time.
