Delete My Data
Effective Date: March 25, 2026
KhanList respects your right to control your personal data. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
What Gets Deleted
When you request data deletion, we permanently remove:
- Your account profile and login credentials
- Bookmarks and saved articles
- Reading history and preferences
- Reading streaks and XP data
- Any other data associated with your account
How to Delete Your Data
Option 1: From the App (Instant)
Open KhanList → Settings tab → scroll to "Data & Privacy" → tap "Delete Account". Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted. Your account and all data will be permanently deleted immediately.
Option 2: By Email
If you are unable to access the app, send an email to contact@khanlist.com with the subject line "Delete My Data". Include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 business days.
Third-Party Sign-In Data
If you signed in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, deleting your KhanList account removes your data from our systems. To revoke KhanList's access to your third-party account:
- Google: Google Account → Security → Third-party apps
- Facebook: Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
- Apple: Settings → Apple ID → Password & Security → Apps Using Apple ID
Timeline
When you delete your account from the app (Option 1), your data is removed immediately and permanently. If you request deletion by email (Option 2), your data will be deleted within 7 business days. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
