Xbox has been trying to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year despite, well, pretty much everything. One of the latest ways it is trying to ignore the proverbial fire burning away in the background is via a new bundle. A bundle that’s either going to cost you $570, or absolutely nothing at all. 25 Years Of Xbox Bundle Xbox It’s called the 25 Years of Xbox Bundle. It has been curated to celebrate the platform’s 25th anniversary, and it boasts quite the selection of games. An array of titles that are synonymous with the Xbox brand including Skyrim, Halo: Combat Evolved, Fallout 76, and The Outer Worlds. The games you get with this bundle seem to differ depending on where you look. You can find a definitive and accurate list of all 25 below. Aside from to celebrate Xbox’s birthday, the bundle has been created as an incentive to get people buying new Windows 11 PCs. Buy the right one from the right place, and you’ll get the bundle for free. All of it. The entire 25-game library covering Xbox’s entire history, right up to Gears of War: Reloaded, which is only a year old. That’s quite the deal, and if you’re in the market for a new PC, you can check the bundle’s FAQ page to make sure you buy one that comes with the 25-game package for free. If you do, not only will you have a fancy new gaming PC, but it will come with a pretty impressive library of games ready to go on day one, with no additional fees or costly subscription required. Is The Bundle Really Worth $570? Xbox claims the bundle is worth $569.99. I know that because, even though it has been created to be given away with new PCs, it is also being sold separately. I’m not sure if there are people out there who like to buy their games 25 titles at a time, but if there are, boy, does Xbox have a deal for you. Or does it? I know we live in the era of the $80 game, but $570 for 25 games, some of which are decades old, doesn’t sound like all that great of a deal. Turns out it isn’t. Using the 25 games listed in the bundle’s FAQ, if you were to buy them all individually, it would cost you $558.76. So for the convenience of getting them in a bundle, Xbox is actually charging you more when you’d expect a discount when buying that many games all at once, a hefty one. Again, this bundle hasn’t been designed to be sold separately. It’s a big free gift that’s worth a lot of money, created to help make buying a new PC, which is more costly now than it has ever been before, more appealing. That’s why it’s somewhat baffling that the bundle is available to buy at all, especially for a price that costs more than if you were to buy the games individually. Since there aren’t many Xbox owners who don’t own at least some of these games already, I imagine the potential customer base for it is already close to zero anyway. These are also the PC versions of all these games, not the Xbox ones, although if they have the Play Anywhere tag, they'll work on your console too.
