The updated lifestyle pickup receives a refreshed exterior inspired by Toyota's 'Cyber Sumo' design philosophy, a more feature-rich cabin and enhanced connectivity, while retaining its proven 2.8-litre diesel engine and off-road hardware.Bookings for the new Hilux open today, July 28, with deliveries scheduled to commence from the second week of August.The ninth-generation Hilux is underpinned by Toyota's IMV platform and continues to be offered with a 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine producing 204bhp and 500Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the pickup comes with an 80-litre fuel tank for extended touring capability.Commenting on the launch, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura said the new Hilux reflects the company's commitment to delivering dependable mobility solutions built on quality, durability and customer trust. Deputy Managing Director Tadashi Asazuma added that the updated model has been designed to cater to customers seeking a vehicle that blends rugged utility with lifestyle appeal, while Executive Vice President Sabari Manohar highlighted the pickup's refreshed styling, connected technology and comprehensive safety package.Toyota is offering the Hilux in three automatic variants:4x2 GX AT: Rs 31.99 lakh4x4 GX AT: Rs 33.69 lakh4x4 VX AT: Rs 36.69 lakh(All prices ex-showroom)Exterior designOn the design front, the new Hilux adopts a more muscular appearance with a wider grille, sculpted bonnet and redesigned front bumper finished with piano black inserts.It also gets LED headlamps with a welcome function, LED fog lamps, daytime running lights, alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, and a shark-fin antenna.Interior designInside, Toyota has upgraded the cabin with soft-touch materials, metallic accents and improved practicality. The pickup features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital combination meter, Toyota i-Connect connected car technology, voice recognition, wireless smartphone charging, cruise control, PM2.5 air filtration, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, and an eight-speaker audio system. Rear passengers also benefit from 60:40 split-folding seats for improved versatility.The Hilux continues to focus heavily on off-road capability. The 4x4 variants feature Toyota's four-wheel-drive system with High (H4) and Low (L4) transfer case modes, along with an Electronic Differential Lock and Downhill Assist Control (DAC). Suspension duties are handled by a double wishbone setup at the front and leaf springs at the rear.SafetySafety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic view monitor and Toyota's Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) body structure.Toyota is offering the all-new Hilux in six exterior colours: Super White, Platinum Pearl White, Attitude Black, Emotional Red, Sulphur Metallic and Ash.
