But India needs to ban Boomers on WhatsApp first before it does anything else,” Ishaan wrote on X. The post may have been aimed at the generation that forwards everything from good morning messages to dubious political claims on WhatsApp.But it also gave his father the perfect opening. Tharoor replied with a lesson in Indian demography - and a punchline aimed directly at his son.“Given our reproductive patterns, my son, unlike in the West, every generation of Indians, including yours, qualifies as [baby] Boomers!” he wrote.In other words, Ishaan's generation may not be able to escape the “boomer” label quite so easily.IT STARTED WITH A DEBATE OVER CHILDREN AND SOCIAL MEDIAThe exchange began after Vembu argued that India should keep young children away from social media altogether.“India should ban social media for young children too.
