Pagasa: Heavy rainfall warning issued over four areas in Luzon

INQUIRER FILES MANILA, Philippines — A heavy rainfall warning has been issued over four areas in Luzon on Friday, July 24, due to tropical storm Kiyapo and the southwest monsoon, or habagat, the state weather bureau said. As of 11 a.m, a yellow warning is in effect over Zambales and the northern portion of Bataan, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). A yellow warning means 50 to 100 millimeters of rain are forecast to prevail over the affected areas, increasing the risk of landslides and flooding. Luzon due to Kiyapo Meanwhile, light to moderate rains are expected to prevail over Pampanga, Tarlac, and parts of Bataan within the next three hours, the weather bureau reported. Based on Pagasa’s weather bulletin on Friday, the trough of Kiyapo may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of Mimaropa, and Pangasinan.
