OPI Abstraction v0.1 Published With Aiming To Standardize DPU/IPU Ecosystems

The Linux Foundation hosted Open Programmable Infrastructure "OPI" announced its first coordinated release with OPI Abstraction v0.1. The work of the Open Programmable Infrastructure is hoping to standardize the data processing unit (DPU) and infrastructure processing unit (IPU) ecosystems. Open Programmable Infrastructure Abstraction v0.1 is the first step toward making IPU and DPU infrastructure easier to consume, integrate, and scale. It consists of a vendor-neutral API layer spanning 26 repositories. An initial focus of the Open Programmable Infrastructure is around the Kubernetes Network Function Offload Blueprint as a production-grade deployment pattern developed by Nginx, Intel, and Red Hat. Those wishing to learn more about this Open Programmable Infrastructure work for helping standardize the DPU/IPU ecosystems can learn more via today's press release and the project site at OPIProject.org.
