New direct flight route links Oman and Tanzania with three weekly flights

Muscat: Oman Airports celebrated today the official launch of direct flights by Tanzania Airlines connecting Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Muscat International Airport in the Sultanate of Oman. Tanzania Airlines CEO, Peter Rudolph Olanga, stated that the launch of flights between Tanzania and Oman represents a significant development for the airline and strengthens existing cooperation between the two countries. He explained that this new air link will contribute to increased travel between Tanzania and Oman.In his statement to reporters, the CEO added that direct flights between the two countries will provide an opportunity to attract Omani visitors to Tanzania, highlighting the diverse tourist attractions Tanzania offers, from Zanzibar to the mainland, which boasts numerous sites of cultural and historical significance linked to Omani-Tanzanian relations. CEO of Tanzania Airlines noted that the demand for flights is receiving a positive response from travelers from Muscat to Tanzania, and onward to other cities within the country and neighboring nations. He emphasized that this route represents a promising opportunity and a sustainable path, given the deep cultural and historical ties between Tanzania and the Sultanate of Oman.For his part, Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Azizi, Head of Corporate Support at Oman Airports, explained that Tanzania Airlines will operate three direct flights per week between Muscat International Airport and the United Republic of Tanzania. Al Azizi pointed out that this aligns with Oman Airports' strategy to increase the number of flights and destinations to airports in the Sultanate of Oman, and that this connection will enhance economic and social ties between the two countries.He added in a press statement that the launch of direct flights by Tanzania Airlines (Air Tanzania) between Muscat and Dar es Salaam is a new route that brings the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries closer to East Africa. The launch of flights between Tanzania and the Sultanate of Oman strengthens the deep-rooted historical relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania, and opens new horizons in the fields of tourism, trade, investment and exchange between the two peoples. It also confirms the status of Muscat International Airport as a regional gateway linking two markets with promising potential.
