NETFLIX have confirmed The Inbetweeners reunion with a first look at the new film – but one HUGE character is missing. The Sun revealed last year that the hit comedy was set to return with all of the stars keen to reunite. But surprisingly Emily Atack, who played glamorous student Charlotte “Big Jugs” Hinchcliffe on the E4 comedy series, has not been listed as one of the returning cast members, which begs the question if she will make a comeback. The Inbetweeners creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris will return towrite and direct the film. The picture shows the four lads sitting in the iconic yellow 1996 Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii edition car, owned by Simon in the TV series. Throughout the series, fans saw the gang drive around in the old motor and became a huge part of the show for fans. Most read in Showbiz The Sun revealed in April the long-awaited revival of hit Noughties comedy. A multi-million-pound deal was being finalised at the time for a movie which could be released on the streaming service next year. A TV insider said: “Inbetweeners fans will be thrilled and relieved because when talk of a reboot emerged last year, there were fears it might not turn out to be a telly project. “But this deal will mean the comedy will be back on our television screens for the first time in 16 years, even though it won’t in its original home on Channel 4.” In the original shows, Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison portrayed four hapless schoolmates navigating adolescence. Memorable scenes include Buckley’s immature and arrogant character Jay yelling “bus w*****s!” from the lads’ car at people at a bus stop. All the main actors said they would be keen to be a part of any comeback. The insider added: “Netflix have been keen to make the project happen partly because its enjoyed a bit of a renaissance since old episodes aired on the streaming service and introduced a whole new generation to the show. “Now The Inbetweeners is set to go international, with the streaming service taking the comedy to households around the globe. “The deal is on the cusp of being fully rubber stamped, with discussions still happening about production timelines, storylines and cast.” The Inbetweeners ran for three series from 2008 to 2010.
