Art, fashion, Imran Khan and more: Delhi Art Weekend is back

(Photo: Instagram/raihanrvadra, delhiartweekend)Amid Delhi’s buzzing art and cultural scene, the city is gearing up for the second edition of Delhi Art Weekend, a celebration bringing together music, art, design, fashion and more.The second edition of Delhi Art Weekend is all set to take place from September 25 to 27 at Travancore Palace, bringing together artists, filmmakers, designers, musicians and audiences for a weekend of exhibitions, conversations, workshops and live performances.While September 25 will be an invite-only preview, tickets for the art weekend will be available for September 26 and 27 on BookMyShow.On display will be the exhibition, titled 'Eka: Fragments of Arrival', which takes inspiration from Delhi’s long history as a city shaped by migration and arrival. It examines how fragments of places, memories, histories and identities can come together to form a sense of oneness. The participating artists are yet to be announced. Of course, that’s not all. Several prominent names from the creative industries will come together for a series of panel discussions and fireside chats. On September 27, actor Imran Khan will join writer-director Suman Kumar (Guns & Gulaabs, The Family Man, Farzi) to discuss honesty in storytelling, filmmaking and the arts.Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee will also reflect on his body of work and how a film lives on beyond its maker in a fireside chat. Meanwhile, fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani, actor Zahan Kapoor and others will explore who gets to shape India’s cultural future and what makes it into the cultural canon. The art weekend will also see a plethora of workshops for you to learn more. From light art and graphic novels to crafts and type design, there will be something for everyone. Artist Ansh Kumar will introduce participants to the world of light art, while Debangshu Moulik will help them explore graphic storytelling. Artist Medha Khosla will also lead a workshop on weaving with discarded materials.On September 27, participants can learn about personal branding with artist Amrit Pal Singh or join photographer Tejinder Khamkha on a portrait photography walk through Delhi. There will also be workshops on type design with Manav Dhiman and the cultural history of chhuhara with Khajoornama.Organised by Svasa Life, Usual Suspects and The Curator Mag, the event will also have a hearty dose of live music performances.
