Kiyapo makes landfall over Camiguin Islands in Cagayan

(from Pagasa/Facebook) MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Kiyapo made landfall over Camiguin Islands in Calayan, Cagayan on Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the center of Kiyapo crossed the island at 2:10 p.m. Article continues after this advertisement READ: Kiyapo to make possible landfall in Babuyan Islands on Friday In its 2 p.m. bulletin, Pagasa said that Kiyapo maintained its strength as it was still carrying maximum wind speed of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It slightly decelerated as it was moving west-northwestward at 25 kph from its earlier movement of 30 kph. Pagasa said Kiyapo could intensify into a severe tropical storm while moving over the Babuyan Islands.
