Katie Price facing financial blow after Lee Andrews’ prison release

The former glamour model, 48, has dissolved her horse-riding clothing company, KP Equestrian Ltd, bringing the curtain down on a brand she once hoped would have fans ‘dazzling in the saddle.’ The company, which sold everything from riding leggings and body warmers to hoodies and T-shirts for adults and children, was officially removed from the Companies House register this week. Katie Price originally launched KP Equestrian on September 3, 2008, at Holborn Studios in London. After closing the business in 2017, she officially relaunched the brand on December 3, 2021. Katie had previously promoted the range at equestrian events, even setting up stalls to sell the clothing in person. But signs that the business had quietly ground to a halt had been there for some time. Financial records suggest the business never quite found its footing. The latest accounts filed at Companies House showed KP Equestrian Ltd had just £1,000 in the bank and net assets of around £15,000. That’s a notable drop from 2022, when the company was valued at more than £26,000. The closure is another setback for Katie, who launched the equestrian range after it emerged she owed more than £3million, pitching it as a passion project inspired by her lifelong love of horses. On the company’s website, she described horses as her ‘happy place,’ explaining they had always offered an escape from the chaos of her public life. Katie has had a difficult few years financially (Picture: Sky UK Limited) ‘Horses have always been a big part of my life since I was a little girl,’ she wrote. She recalled spending her teenage years mucking out stables, grooming horses and learning to ride before adding that, even as her career became increasingly hectic, she always found time to return to the yard. ‘There’s nothing quite like the feeling when you turn up to the yard,’ she said, describing being around horses as a way to ‘calm my soul.’ Katie also told fans she had poured herself into designing the collection, promising stylish and omfortable riding wear with ‘my own sparkle added.’ Unfortunately, the sparkle appears not to have translated into sales. Following his release from Dubai’s Al-Awir prison, Lee is reportedly battling fines and financial demands believed to total between £100,000 and £120,000. Katie has already made it clear she won’t be footing that bill. Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘There’s nothing I can do. I’m not here to pay anything for anyone. ‘I’ve got my own life. Even though he’s part of my life.’ With one business now quietly disappearing and no sign of the equestrian brand galloping back into action, only time will tell what Katie’s next money-making scheme will look like.
