Chloe Fineman on ‘Bittersweet’ Decision to Exit ‘SNL’: ‘I’ve Been Crying Sweet Tears’

Variety via Getty Images Four days after Chloe Fineman announced that she would not be returning for Saturday Night Live‘s 52nd season, the star opened up about her “bittersweet” exit from the long-running sketch show. When speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet for The Dink, which she co-stars in, Fineman said that she’s “really proud of everything, but it’s hard.” “I’m genuinely really good friends with everybody and I genuinely couldn’t love that job more,” she said, sharing that her former SNL cast member Colin Jost called her earlier since it was her birthday and she “fully cried.” Fineman said, “everyone’s like really reaching out. It’s the sweetest show. It’s a hard show, but the people — it’s because of hours and everything. But like it really is a family, and I’ve been crying like sweet tears.” Fineman joined SNL as a featured cast member for the 2019/20 season. Outside of the show, Fineman has flexed her voice acting skills on Big Mouth and The Simpsons and featured on TV series and in movies. Her credits include Laid, Megalopolis, Search Party, and Freakier Friday, among others. “It’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time,” Fineman wrote in Instagram post confirming her exit last week. “I’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.” Trending Stories In her latest feature, The Dink, Fineman stars alongside Jake Johnson and Ben Stiller.
