Per an obituary shared by the outlet, Chris Anne Affleck, mother also to actor Casey Affleck, was given six months to live after her diagnosis. The family announced her death on July 24.She died from cardiopulmonary arrest while “visiting her son’s residence,” according to the death certificate obtained by PEOPLE.Chris Anne Affleck also suffered from pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which was listed as a condition that also led to her death. No autopsy was performed.She attended the 1998 Academy Awards ceremony when Ben Affleck and Matt Damon won for “Good Will Hunting.” Ben Affleck explained to Vanity Fair in 2023 that bringing their mothers to the event was instinctive.“There was nobody else that was going to go,” he said. “Of course, our moms were gonna go.
