Manila has always been generous to those who know where to look. Here are eight independent spaces in the city carving out their own path. 1. Studio Segui A CREATIVE PLAYGROUND. Studio, coworking space, café, and bar in Mandaluyong City Studio Segui is the kind of place you visit when working from home starts to feel a little like working alone. Independent risograph art press and DIY print and design studio Cainta, Rizal, and Queens, New York City Bad Student brings a colorful introduction to risograph printing and independent publishing. Studio 1372 ART IN THE HEART OF MANILA. Community art space and studio in Escolta Behind Studio 1372’s little green door, co-founders Seb and Ruby can usually be found working beside a freshly brewed pot of coffee. Ruby stitches notebooks while Seb prepares layouts and prints their original art. Visitors can explore the works on the walls, use the art bar, or play board games with fellow creatives. The studio opened in August 2025 as an extension of the family store Kariton by 1372 Designs.
