Legion is full of great action scenes as Michael arms patrons in the diner, preparing for the otherworldly onslaught. The movie also has some genuine scares, including one particularly frightening moment with an old woman that even made it into the trailer. 3 Angel Heart (1987) Angel Heart is the oldest movie on this list and stars Mickey Rourke as Harry Angel. He's a private investigator and has just accepted a job from a mysterious client who calls himself Louis Cyphre (Robert De Niro). The movie is set in New Orleans in the 50s and shares many similarities with Constantine. Both titles feature a gritty story with biblical themes and dark journeys into the occult. Cyphre asks Angel to locate a singer, but the investigator worries he may become a suspect in the case himself when he finds a blood-soaked crime scene. Angel Heart is also particularly memorable for its portrayal of the devil. Byrne's devil is oddly charming and charismatic. He's also sadistic, and we even see him kill a teenager on a skateboard for crossing him. End of Days features a great good-vs-evil clash where the stakes could not be higher. It's obvious how much fun Byrne is having as the villain, and he has some unforgettable exchanges with Schwarzenegger that are wonderfully quotable. Jericho himself is quite different from Constantine, but both movies are unforgettable for their biblical themes, superb casts, and despicably evil antagonists.
