This new collaboration feels like a match made in heaven as the two different RPGs — one MMO, one tabletop — have finally joined forces. While a leak earlier this week spoiled the surprise a bit, the official announcement is still an exciting one. Ahead of GenCon, ScreenRant sat in for press briefing on what's new and upcoming for D&D. Part of the presentation focused on the reveal of Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft, the first expansion under the new Universes Beyond banner. This partnership, which was created alongside of Blizzard Entertainment, marks the first time WoW has been at the tabletop in about 20 years. And the good news is that it's arriving soon. D&D: World of Warcraft will release on November 17, 2026. The book will introduce species, classes, zones, dungeons, and bosses from World of Warcraft into Dungeons & Dragons and will feature "legendary foes from the past 20 years of WoW." Players will be able to recreate their character from WoW into the setting, or they can create a brand-new one just for this tabletop adventure in Azeroth. Additionally, one of WoW's most famous raids will be coming to D&D thanks to the Icecrown Citadel Map Pack. This release includes full-size poster maps, tokens, and a digital adventure. The Icecrown Citadel adventure is for characters at level 16 and will bring them up to level 20. High-level content is always a bit of a novelty in D&D 5e, so it's great to see a high-level adventure included here. Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft will be the anchor for D&D's Season of Champions, which covers the latter part of 2026. This will be followed by Season of Survival, which brings back the Dark Sun setting, and then Season of Sword & Sorcery, which will see the return of Greyhawk. Both of those Seasons will take place in 2027. Pre-orders for Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft should be going up tonight, and we thankfully don't have to wait too long for the new book to arrive. In just three short months, we'll all get to experience Azeroth from the tabletop thanks to this collab. Whether you're a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, or both, it's a pretty exciting time. And it's nice to see Wizards of the Coast kicking off its Universes Beyond expansions in such a major way.
