Williams and Sheehan join Bellamy's Wales staff

Former Wales captain Ashley Williams and ex-Swansea boss Alan Sheehan have joined Craig Bellamy's backroom staff as assistant coaches ahead of Wales' Nations League campaign.Retired defender Williams, 42, represented Wales 86 times and skippered the side during their memorable run to the Euro 2016 semi-final.Williams, a Uefa A Licence holder, has recently been involved in coaching at several Wales age group camps but this is his first senior role.Sheehan, 39, joins the Wales coaching staff nearly 12 months after he was sacked from his head coach role at Swansea in November 2025.The former Republic of Ireland youth international has experience as an assistant coach, having held roles at Swansea, Southampton and Luton Town.
