‘Wicker’ Trailer: Olivia Colman & Basket-Like Hubby Alexander Skarsgård Upend Quiet Village

Here is the rather randy first trailer for Wicker, the comedic fable starring Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Peter Dinklage that debuted at Sundance in January. Have a look above. Stop us if you’ve heard this one before — but you likely have not. Per the logline: Colman stars as a malodorous fisherwoman who commissions a husband to be made by the local basketmaker (Dinklage). When her wicker husband (Skarsgård) proves more spectacular than she ever imagined, his soulful spirit and unique prowess awaken something inside her, setting off a wave of jealousy, fascination and upheaval that threatens the very fabric of village life. To wit, one villager tells another, “I heard that he’s strong as a tree and just as hard.” Still, there’s that little thing about him being, well, wicker. And some folks fuss. “He has his days. Black Bear acquired North American rights to Wicker in February, and it the pic hits theaters October 23 in limited release, with a wide expansion a week later.
