President Donald Trump has put in his two cents on most Senate and U.S. House races this year, as Republicans vie to keep their majorities in the upper and lower chambers, but there are several races he has shied away from endorsing.Trump’s endorsement power in the Republican primary proved effective in ousting some of his least favorite members of the Republican caucuses, including Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who each lost their primaries to Trump-endorsed opponents. But in the general election, with Democratic and Independent voters now in the fold, Trump-endorsed candidates now have the stamp of approval from a president with a new low approval rating, which sits at just 36%, according to an Oct. New York Times/Siena poll. Several Capitol Hill Republican candidates are running in their general elections without an endorsement from the president. While Trump expectedly left out mostly GOP candidates running in solidly Democratic seats, he has snubbed a select number of toss-up and close-race candidates from his approval. Here’s the Republicans running in the 2026 midterms without Trump’s endorsement, as of publication time:House Republicans without Trump’s endorsement Most of the House Republican candidates Trump has not endorsed are running in deep-blue districts, where the Republican candidates are widely expected to lose on Election Day. However, he has left out some key endorsements from notable House races, ranked toss-ups by Cook Political Report. One of the most notable House candidates lacking a Trump endorsement is incumbent Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), who is running against Democratic candidate Bob Harvie, the Bucks County Commission Chair. The centrist, four-term congressman has proven himself a difficult candidate for Democrats to beat, retaining his seat since 2019 despite his district voting for former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Joe Biden.Fitzpatrick’s seat was moved to a toss-up in the forecaster’s rankings four days before election day. Trump has not yet endorsed the congressman, dissing him for often “voting against Trump,” despite House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) endorsement for the incumbent. Given the district’s pattern of bucking Trump in each of his presidential races, Fitzpatrick has aimed to distance himself from the president as well, voting against the GOP majority in key votes like the final passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act.While Fitzpatrick led by single digits in the limited polling throughout the race, Harvie recently led by two percentage points in the latest New York Times/Siena poll on the race.Across the country in California, Trump has also bucked a GOP incumbent from his endorsement in California’s toss-up 22nd congressional district race. Trump has not endorsed incumbent Rep. David Valadao (R-CA) in his toss-up race against Democrat Randy Villegas.Valadao has purposely distanced himself from the President, voting to impeach him in 2021. After his rebuke, Trump has never endorsed Valadao. The California Republican is, however, endorsed by Johnson. In 2024, Valadao’s district voted for Trump over Harris by a 5.8 percentage point margin. But California’s Proposition 50 redistricting has given Democrats more of an opening in the district. In the limited polling on the race, Villegas, a political science professor, has led Valadao.Villegas heavily leads Valadao in the race’s Kalshi odds, while Harvie currently leads Fitzpatrick in that race’s odds, though they have frequently flipped. In California, Trump has also left out an endorsement from two other interesting races: California’s sixth and 40th congressional districts. In the sixth district, former GOP and now independent Rep. Kevin Kiley (I-CA) is running in his redistricted seat against Democrat Richard Pan. Neither Trump nor Johnson has endorsed Kiley, but, according to the Sacramento Bee, Johnson’s PAC has donated heavily to Kiley’s campaign despite his new independent label. Kalshi odds heavily back Pan.Trump also has not endorsed in California’s solidly Republican 40th district, in which two GOP candidates are facing off against each other.Senate Republicans without Trump’s endorsement: Blue state challengers Trump has not yet endorsed in nine of the 35 Senate races occurring in 2026. He has left out endorsements from the Senate races in Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Virginia. Each of the races is ranked as solidly Democratic by election forecasters like Cook Political Report. In Colorado’s Senate race, Republican candidate Mark Baisley, a Colorado state senator, is taking on incumbent Sen. John Hickenlooper. Baisley is not endorsed by Trump or Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), but he does hold endorsements from Colorado’s four GOP representatives.Republican Michael Katz, a former Democratic state senator, has not received an endorsement from Trump or any notable national Republicans in his Delaware Senate race against incumbent Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE).In Illinois, former state Republican Party chairman Don Tracy is running against Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton (D-IL) to succeed retiring Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). In the blue stronghold, Stratton leads by double digits in limited polling. Without the Trump endorsement, Tracy has backings from Reps. Mike Bost (R-IL), Darin LaHood (R-IL), and Mary Miller (R-IL).In Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Republican attorney John Deaton and former Rhode Island Republican Assembly president Raymond McKay, respectively, are running in each northeast state with slim odds of winning. Deaton is challenging incumbent Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), and McKay is challenging incumbent Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI).New Jersey’s Republican Senate nominee Justin Murphy faces an Everest-like climb against incumbent Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) in the Garden State. Despite his brief moment of virality with his debate answer supporting the Iran war, Murphy has not received an endorsement from Trump or any other prominent national Republican. In Virginia, GOP Senate candidate Bert Mizusawa, a retired Army major general, is similarly challenging incumbent Sen. Mark Warner (R-VA) on a statewide ballot the year after Virginia Democrats flipped the Governor’s seat blue by a double-digit margin. Mizusawa is endorsed by Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA), but not Trump or popular former Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA).MEET THE REPUBLICAN SENATE CANDIDATE WHO WANTS TRUMP TO CONTINUE THE IRAN WAROregon’s Republican Senate candidate, GOP State Sen. David Brock Smith, and New Mexico’s Republican Senate candidate, write-in primary winner Larry Marker, are each not endorsed by Trump.None of the GOP Senate candidates have above a 2.4% chance of winning, according to prediction market Kalshi’s odds.
