Wheel Of Time: The Last Battle Officially Releases 2027

Published Oct 11, 2026, 12:01 AM EDT Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there. Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers. Despite some comparing it to epics such as Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, The Wheel of Time has not received the same amount of attention. Beginning its life as a series of high fantasy novels by author Robert Jordan, with Brandon Sanderson serving as a co-writer for the first three installments, the hit series was picked up by Amazon Prime Video, airing a television series of the same name that ran for three seasons between 2021 and 2025. However, after the show was canceled following its third season, fans were left heartbroken, with even a global fan campaign titled #SaveWoT hoping to save the show and bring it back for more. Unfortunately, the campaign has not been successful at the time of writing, and whilst the books have plenty of content to adapt, it is unlikely that Amazon Prime will be the one doing it. That being said, it is not all doom and gloom for The Wheel of Time fans, as there is at least one more major release to look forward to. The Wheel of Time Returns War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time is a crowdfunding campaign that aims to bring the world of The Wheel of Time to the world of TTRPGs. The upcoming grand strategy board game sailed past its original goal of $50,000, and before it came to an end, it managed to rack up an eye-watering $1.1 million. It is success stories such as this that make you wonder why the television show was not as successful, as the franchise clearly has a lot of dedicated fans. Published by Dire Wolf, here is what it had to say about War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time: "Robert Jordan’s fantasy masterpiece comes to your table with the first-ever board game based on The Wheel of Time series. War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time chronicles the epic conflict between the forces of light and darkness as players wage war across a land of magic, ancient prophecies, and powerful armies set to save the world … or destroy it. The game combines tableau building, action selection, and area control mechanics in a thrilling struggle of conquest and survival." Arriving Next Year As exciting as this release sounds, War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time has only just entered production in earnest after meeting its crowdfunding goal. As such, it is not expected to begin shipping out to supporters until June 2027. In good news, if you missed the initial campaign, you still have time to secure yourself a copy of The Last Battle Bundle. Equal to the deluxe version of the original game, The Last Battle Bundle includes: War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time® – The One Power™ Edition War of the Dragon Component Upgrade Pack War of the Dragon Card Sleeves War of the Dragon Neoprene Playmat Campaign Exclusive - Map of the Westlands Art Print Backerkit Access So, if you are missing The Wheel of Time and want to return to the epic fantasy world, make sure to keep War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time on your radar ahead of its 2027 launch.
