West Brom confident of Toby Collyer transfer with Man Utd outcast, 22, expected to choose Baggies over Hull City

WEST BROM are increasingly confident of signing Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer. Hull City have shown interest in the 22-year-old but Sun Sport revealed on Thursday they faced a battle to convince Collyer to rejoin them. Although Collyer only started once for the Baggies before sustaining a calf injury that saw his season-long loan cut short, Championship side West Brom have since appointed James Morrison as manager. Playing time is believed to have influenced the likely outcome of Collyer moving to West Brom over Premier League Hull. And the fight for places at Hull wouldn’t have got any easier after the weekend, as Sergej Jakirovic’s Tigers secured a stunning 2-0 win over Carrick’s Red Devils. Collyer was told by United he was free to leave earlier this summer amid their midfield overhaul. United have signed Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba for a combined £155million. Collyer started four times for United and the last of those was against Steaua Bucharest in the Europa League in January 2025.
