Actor Trisha Krishnan was seen arriving at Rohini Theatre in Chennai to watch Jana Nayagan, the latest film starring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Directed by H Vinoth, the film is being billed as Vijay's farewell film and has opened in theatres after a delay of more than seven months because it was stuck with the censor board.Trisha kept her look simple for the theatre visit, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Trisha and Vijay have shared screen space several times over the years. They first worked together in Ghilli in 2004 and later appeared in Thirupaachi, Aathi and Kuruvi. They were last seen together in Leo, which released in 2023. Trisha also made a cameo appearance in Vijay's GOAT.Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan has recorded a strong response in advance bookings ahead of its theatrical release. The film has crossed the Rs 20-crore mark in domestic advance bookings, including blocked seats, with reports suggesting that over 7 lakh tickets have been sold across India in three languages. Directed by H Vinoth, the film has maintained its pre-release momentum despite a seven-month delay, an HD leak months before its release and an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film's release has also drawn attention because it is being marketed as Vijay's final film as a lead actor. The film is releasing simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and has recorded strong overseas pre-sales, while rival releases have given it a relatively clear run. It will be interesting to see whether Jana Nayagan can go past the collection figures of Leo and GOAT.- EndsPublished By: shweta keshriPublished On: Jul 23, 2026 12:09 IST
