Two young girls were severely injured when an electric pole-laden vehicle went out of control and crashed into a store in Rajasthan's Jhalawar on Saturday, police said. The injured girls, Komal (12) and Garima (6), were purchasing items at a neighbourhood grocery store when the incident took place. A tractor trolley ferrying cement electric poles suddenly slammed straight into the shop, trapping the two children between the vehicle and the shop's front counter. Both girls sustained serious injuries in the accident. Locals rushed to the spot and rushed them to the hospital. Komal and Garima suffered fractures in both of their legs. A CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. The woman operating the shop also sustained minor injuries, police said, adding that the accused driver and three other occupants fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle and could not be traced immediately. The tractor reportedly belonged to a contractor. While climbing an uphill stretch, it became uncontrollable due to the excessive load. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and after accelerating, it crashed right into the grocery shop. The police have lodged a case against the unidentified driver and seized the tractor-trolley.
