Balindong has received 72,093 votes, according to 93.82% of total election returns, as of September 14, 10:14 pm. He ran under the banner of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party, which is led by Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim, chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Prior to the campaign, Balindong was appointed a member of the Bangsamoro Parliament by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in March 2025. He served as vice chairperson of the committee on agriculture, fisheries, and agrarian reform, and the committee on environment, natural resources, and energy.
