UK airport issues travel warning from TOMORROW with passengers told to allow ‘extra time’ to avoid missing flights

Passengers arriving that way by car can expect disruption from its junction with Avon Causeway and Bostwick Lane. Sign up for the Travel newsletter Thank you! The road will be closed to all vehicles from 7am to 6pm on all three days. For drivers there will be no parking and no waiting at any time on the road. There will be a diversion in place, but as a result, Bournemouth Airport has told passengers to allow ‘extra time’ when travelling. BCP Council added: “These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations; restrictions may be in effect under this Notice for up to five days, and extended by a further Notice or Order. “The Council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by this temporary prohibition.” This comes just one month after Bournemouth Airport hiked its costs at short-stay pick-up and drop-off charges, with some fares doubling. Most read in Travel Motorists who use the pick-up and drop-off zone of the car park now have to pay £8 for up to 30 minutes of parking which is an increase of £2 from last year. Stays between 30 and 60 minutes have doubled in price, now costing £15 to park, compared to £7.50 previously, with one to four-hour parking priced at £20.
