Ahead of iPhone Duo’s launch on Friday, accessory maker BMX is releasing what appears to be one of the first MagSafe batteries designed specifically for Apple’s foldable. The BMX Duo is available to order now and can wirelessly charge your iPhone Duo (or any other iPhone) at up to 15W. You can pick it up on Amazon for $79.99. The iPhone Duo supports MagSafe, but because it’s shorter than a standard iPhone, many existing MagSafe accessories likely won’t fit—or will hang awkwardly off the bottom. The BMX Duo 5000mAh Power Bank is designed to fit exactly on the iPhone Duo: A custom-size 5,000mAh cell is shaped to the iPhone Duo’s folded footprint, so it sits flush on the cover panel instead of hanging past the edges. It was built around the Duo, and it snaps onto the iPhone 12 through 18 series just as securely. In addition to attaching via MagSafe for 15W wireless charging, it also has a built-in USB-C cable that can charge at up to 20W speeds. The BMX Duo also features a built-in ring that rotates a full 360 degrees. The full-color display on the back shows the exact battery percentage and live charging wattage. It uses semi-solid-state cells, which BMX says “use significantly less liquid electrolyte than conventional lithium-ion cells, which helps reduce the risk of battery fires.” The BMX Duo 5000mAh Power Bank is available to order today for $79.99. We expect to see a bunch of iPhone Duo accessories roll out to the market soon.
