Your monetary balance — alongside your XP total and Wardogs level — is a sign of your progression. The more cash you have, the more weapons and items you can unlock to use in matches going forward. Practically everything you do in Wardogs will make you money, along with XP, so the question isn't just "how do you make money," it's "what are the best ways to make money both quickly and reliably?" Unfortunately, being in constant combat as an infantry soldier is one of the highest risk options available, even if it is the most action-heavy. I've spent time playing every role extensively in Wardogs to find out how to get rich quickly, so here are the best ways to make money that I've found. Become a spotter Image: Bulkhead/Team17 via Polygon The beauty in Wardogs is that even though it's a first-person shooter at heart, you do not need to shoot anyone whatsoever to support your team. One of the best ways you can earn a shedload of cash is by spotting enemies from afar. The binoculars only cost $75, and once you unlock it, the monocular is only $150, and looking at enemies with these tools will highlight their locations on the minimap for your allies. If the enemy you tagged dies, you then net yourself a hefty wedge per assist. The exact amount differs depending on various factors, but what's even better is that the enemy doesn't need to be killed by your team; if they die at the hands of the third team, you'll still earn cash for the assist. You can spot anything, from enemy helicopters to tanks, supply crates, and more, and each of them will reward you with cash. The only trick is to find a decent lookout point and not give away your position. If you can become a reliable pilot, however, ferrying allies to the control zone then returning for more passengers is one of the quickest ways you can earn a lot of money. It requires an initial outlay to buy a helicopter, because even the basic little bird chopper is over $6,000, but you can earn that back in just two trips. Dropping passengers off inside the control zone will net you an initial paycheck, then as long as they survive for a little while when on the ground, you'll get paid again. If you can do that inside the hot zone, you'll double your money. They allow for mortars to be set up, drills to be activated to pull the hot zone closer, and if they're set up at the base of a tower, great locations for snipers to sit and pick enemies off from afar. If they're not well defended, however, enemy teams will have little trouble taking them over. So equip a hammer and start building defenses. Hesco blocks, gates, and barbed wire are three of the most basic things you can construct, and every single one built rewards you with cash. There needs to be a little bit of logic behind it, so your base isn't akin to a maze, but a fortified FOB can be a match-winner and even though you're unlikely to see much combat, you can earn serious cash by essentially working on a construction site for the full game. Buy any vehicle with space for supplies, fill it up, then drive to a FOB and offload the supplies for your teammates to use. Do this on repeat and you'll net constant cash. Alternatively, as soon as your team reaches 20 points, be the first person to buy the spawn vehicle. This is a slow-moving APC but once it's in the control zone and is no longer moving, allies can use the deployment board to teleport from spawn to the APC, and you'll earn cash every time someone does so. As for spawn vehicle placement, you can protect one with hesco blocks near a FOB, or you can follow the hot zone with it, which is much more dangerous, but will allow your team to constantly get into the action. While anyone can revive allies with their hands, it takes a long time, whereas items like resuscitators and defibrillators perform the task much quicker. Every ally you revive will earn you a lot of cash, especially if the downed player has offered a bribe to get them back up, and then some if they tip as well. The only problem is this is still quite risky, as it requires you to be on the frontline. A skilled medic always takes a number of smoke grenades with them, and learns when to drag downed players to safety rather than reviving them in the open. If you're in such a dire situation financially that you need to earn as much risk-free cash as you can, buy the cheapest loadout possible, catch a ride to the battlefield, then find a bush, wall, or room in a house, far from any gunfire, lay down, and wait. It isn't the most engaging method, nor is it the quickest, but it is one of the safest. You can't go completely AFK because the game will kick you, but you'll be able to rack up a fair amount of profit over the course of the match. If the hot zone comes your way, expect the action to follow, but otherwise, you'll earn $160 every 24 seconds you survive in the control zone. If you manage to do the same inside the hot zone?
