Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto (Abby Elliot) Carmy's Sister After making only a few brief appearances in The Bear season 1, Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto became a primary character in the series when she joined forces with Carmy in creating a new restaurant. Although she holds up well, she struggles to deal with the immense stress and anxiety of starting a business. The flashback from The Bear season 2 also shows Natalie's perspective on where she stands in the family, emphasizing how she tries to make the evening better by coercing Mikey to calm down when he picks a fight with Uncle Lee. Although Michelle does not get much screen time, she played a significant role in Carmy's past and the riff he initially had with his immediate family. Michelle and Steven let Carmy stay with them while he was working in New York, and offer to let him come back at any time, with Michelle clearly having distanced herself from the family, too. Pete, who shares a daughter with Natalie by the end of the series, is always someone the Berzattos can turn to for help, even in the most difficult of circumstances. Cicero "Uncle Jimmy" (Oliver Platt) Carmy's Unofficial Uncle As shown in The Bear season 1, Cicero, usually called "Uncle Jimmy," helped Mikey sustain his business by loaning him a lot of money. Mikey never paid him back but stored all the money in tomato cans, hoping Carmy would eventually find it. Carmy finds the money in The Bear season 1's ending moments, but instead of keeping it a secret, he trusts Jimmy and tells him that he found the cash he had loaned to his brother. Leveraging his truth, Carmy also makes him his business partner and convinces him to invest even more in his new restaurant. Throughout the rest of the series, Jimmy is a massive piece of The Bear's puzzle. As the restaurant's financial backer, he can sometimes operate as an antagonist, but he ultimately openly wants the Berzatto kids to succeed in their lives, especially after losing their brother. Despite him being referred to as an Uncle, Uncle Jimmy actually isn't related to the Berzatto family. Richard "Richie" Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) Carmy's Unofficial Cousin Throughout The Bear, Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Richie is constantly referred to as cousin, but Richie isn't related to the Berzattos by blood. Instead, Richie was lifelong friends with Mikey, and the strength of their relationship made him an unofficial member of the Berzatto family tree. Richie's cousin status stuck around even after the tragic death of Mikey, with him still being treated as family by Carmy, Sugar, and the rest of the Berzattos.
