This was quickly confirmed, as director Matt Reeves took to social media to affirm Giacchino's comments, replying to ScreenRant's post with the quote and stating "100%". As such, the composer's role in The Batman 2 when the sequel finally gets to the stage that music can be added to it seems effectively set in stone, given Matt Reeves is clearly keen to have Michael Giacchino reprise his role in the movie's creation when it comes to the second film's soundtrack. Though there's likely plenty of time before we get to that stage, with The Batman 2 currently being in filming, this does bode well for the movie's future, and its ability to replicate the success of the original hit 2022 release when it debuts in 2028. The often industrial-esque soundtrack of The Batman - which changes from intense high-speed beats to slow, dramatic music throughout the film - works perfectly for the movie and its story, and fits the way the plot flits from action to mystery as the Caped Crusader attempts to fight his way through Gotham and puzzle out the Riddler's schemes.
