She sustained severe injuries in the collision and died at the spot.After the accident, the crane driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. People in the surrounding area immediately reached the spot and informed the police about the injured student. Traffic police launched a search for the absconding crane driver and also sent Prerna's body for a post-mortem examination.A police official said they had started an investigation based on the CCTV footage. Police have detained the crane driver who fled the scene after the accident and initiated legal action.
