Stanford QB Davis Warren and LB Matt Rose pick up ACC Player of the Week honors

Mandatory Credit: Sergio Estrada-Imagn Images On Monday, Stanford 6th year quarterback Davis Warren and 5th year linebacker Matt Rose picked ACC Player of the Week honors following their 34-27 home victory over Georgia Tech. Warren named ACC Quarterback of the Week and Rose named ACC Linebacker of the Week. TheACC.com: ACC Football Players of the Week for Week 4 RECAP: Stanford surges past Georgia Tech with strong second half Starting with Warren, he went 22-36 for a career-high 396 yards while also having three touchdown passes and zero interceptions. The deep ball was flying for Warren in this one as he completed a 29 yard pass to Nico Brown, a 61 yard pass to Zion Robinson, a 30 yard pass to Jordan Onovughe on 4th down, a 49 yard touchdown pass to Caden High, and a 33 yard touchdown pass to Brown. Stanford also was 3-4 on 4th downs as Warren did a fantastic job of making clutch throws. As for Rose, he had 11 total tackles (8 solo) and 2.5 tackles for loss, doing a great job of anchoring a Cardinal defense that held Georgia Tech to seven points in the second half. Rose became the first Cardinal to have 11+ tackles and 2.5+ tackles for loss since Bobby Okereke on November 10th, 2017 against then-No. 9 Washington. For Stanford, beating Georgia Tech over the weekend was a real shot in the arm to their confidence. They were picked to finish dead last in the ACC with few giving them much of a chance to be competitive. A major reason why they were able to get the win was because of the way both Warren and Rose performed. It’ll be fun to see how both guys do on Saturday morning (9 AM PT) at Wake Forest and whether or not the Cardinal can pull off a shocking road upset.
