A town council meeting descended into chaos as police were called to remove a councillor who was filming the chairwoman while a brass band played in the background. It took 13 minutes for the Barnoldswick Town Council to spiral into disarray, reminiscent of the viral 'Jackie Weaver' parish council Zoom meeting back in 2021.Council chair Leanne Barrett noticed councillor David Whipp, the former Lib Dem leader of Pendle Borough Council, filming her and asked him to put his camera away.But after he refused, Cllr Barrett adjourned the meeting and decided to ring the police.When they arrived 40 minutes later, a brass band then started playing in the background, leaving members of the public at the meeting in hysterics.In the live-streamed footage of the meeting last Thursday, the pair can be seen arguing, as Cllr Barrett asked, while pointing at his camera: 'What's this, Councillor Whipp?. 'Chairman, it's a camera,' Mr Whipp replied.She said: 'I don't want (the camera) in my face, Councillor Whipp. We are live streaming.' After the dispute ensued, Cllr Barrett adjourned the meeting after 13 minutes.She said: 'This is ridiculous.'Right, I'm going to adjourn this meeting while I contact the police to ask David Whipp to be removed.'The decision was greeted with a round of applause from the public gallery. When the officers arrived, Cllr Barrett asked if they would be able to remove Cllr Whipp from the meeting. 'Would you be able to ask him to leave please?,' she said:The PCSO asked Cllr Whipp: 'Would we be able to have a chat with you outside please?'Cllr Whipp replied: 'I can chat with you here.'Cllr Barrett said: 'No, we need to continue with the council business. This is a Government meeting.'He replied: 'I need to continue to monitor and record this.'At that moment, the band started playing loudly in the background in another room at Civic Hall in Barnoldswick, near Burnley, Lancashire. When police arrived 40 minutes later, a brass band then started playing in the background, leaving members of the public at the meeting in hysterics A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: 'Any ejection or removal is a matter for the council.'In 2021, a Handforth Parish Council Zoom meeting went viral after chairman Brian Tolver told stand-in clerk Jackie Weaver that she had 'no authority' to take charge in December 2020.Councillors traded insults with one shouting at Mrs Weaver to 'read the standing orders'.The meeting became a viral hit after she kicked out the chairman, shouting councillors and was lauded for standing up to bullies.The chairman faced a barrage of criticism and admitted that he was known as 'the monstrous villain of the piece'.Mrs Weaver, who lives in Whitchurch, Shropshire, received messages of support from around the world amid claims the hectoring she received amounted to sexist bullying.She became a massive viral hit and even made an appearance at the Brit Awards.
