Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out now in theaters and, as is often the case for Marvel movies, you might be reading this right now to check if you need to stay and watch the credits. The good news is that yes, there is a credits scene. The bad news is you have to sit and wait until the very end if you want to see it. If all you wanted to know was how many credit scenes there are, but you don’t want them spoiled, this is where you need to stop reading. Sony Brand New Day’s only credits scene is a short and relatively mysterious one, although it could be telling us a lot about where we might see Spider-Man show up next in the MCU. The scene hones in on Ned’s Spidey Tracker, an app the former Guy in the Chair uses to keep tabs on Peter Parker’s whereabouts. The app zooms out of NYC and then keeps on zooming out until you can see the entire planet. It then tracks off to the right and shows a blinking Spidey symbol in space, suggesting that Spider-Man will be off-world the next time we see him. Right before the tracker finally finds Spider-Man again, it glitches out as if the webslinger is, very briefly, nowhere. It also doesn’t reveal exactly where in space Spider-Man has appeared. We won’t know for sure until we see it on the big screen, or in a trailer, but the most likely scenario is that the next time we see Peter Parker, potentially with various other Spider-Man variants at his side, is in Avengers: Secret Wars. All Signs Point To Secret Wars Disney/Marvel Secret Wars is the confirmed follow-up to Avengers: Doomsday, which, if all goes to plan, will release in theaters one year after Doctor Doom makes his big-screen debut, just like the Infinity War/Endgame one-two punch between 2018 and 2019. In it, if the Secret Wars comics are anything to go by, heroes and villains from across the multiverse will be summoned to a makeshift planet called Battleworld and forced to fight each other. There have been a handful of Secret Wars storylines in the Marvel comics, but considering the Doctor Doom of it all, 2015’s version will almost certainly be the one from which the MCU pulls inspiration. In it, Doom oversees his own Battleworld, using the aforementioned heroes and villains as his playthings. Not only might that be where we see the MCU’s Spider-Man next based on the Spidey app credits scene, but it could also mark the returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, not to mention the villains that were sent back to their respective universes along with them at the end of No Way Home. Whether the tracker was detecting one Spidey or multiple, it seems likely the next time we see a Spider-Man in the MCU, it'll be on Battleworld.
