Besides a new monthly character and everything that their gameplay kit might add to the 6v6 hero-shooter meta, a lot of fans look forward to whatever new skins will debut in Marvel Rivals. It’s a gamble whether a skin for your mains will debut any time soon, especially considering how many characters are on Marvel Rivals’ playable roster of Vanguards, Duelists, and Strategists now, and you’re lucky if your favorite characters receive their most iconic costumes from across all media. For example, fans of Netflix’s Marvel Cinematic Universe Daredevil, as well as Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s Daredevil: The Man Without Fear, were probably thrilled when Daredevil got his Shadowed Start skin in Marvel Rivals. However, thanks to the cinematic trailer for Season 9.0, players may also be able to expect two long-awaited costumes in the near future. There won’t be an official guarantee of such suits unless Marvel Rivals eventually announces them, but a scene from the Marvel Rivals Season 9.0 trailer certainly teased that new skins could be arriving soon for Daredevil and Spider-Man. In this frame, Daredevil is holding a fallen Spider-Man in the middle of a collapsed timeline’s ruins, and both characters are seen wearing the most classic iterations of their respective costumes. Reddit user Blayzeman writes, “I want a Daredevil skin looking like that, man,” referring to the classic, all-red suit. Meanwhile, X user Charly236X thinks this Daredevil costume most closely resembles the one designed by Marco Checchetto. It also looks quite comparable to the suit that Matthew Murdock wears in Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett’s new ongoing Daredevil run, whereas it’s harder to tell if there are any specific comic book source material inspirations in Spider-Man’s suit due to the angle he’s positioned in. Notably, neither Daredevil nor Spider-Man has a genuine classic costume in-game. The closest that Spider-Man’s skins have come are the pixelated Marvel Cosmic Invasion-inspired skin and the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day skin, while the closest that Daredevil’s skins have gotten in the relatively short period that he’s been in Marvel Rivals for are the black Daredevil: Born Again Season 2-inspired skin and the Shadowed Start skin. Basically, every fan on social media who’s seen this trailer has acknowledged these classic suits and would appreciate them being adapted as skins. It’s surely a no-brainer, as user briananderson58 states, but maybe Marvel Rivals is fully aware of that and doesn’t want to give fans every single skin they could possibly want already, as they might not be left wanting for anything else anymore. This tease, though, suggests that they’re on the way.
