Singapore and Tokyo have been ranked among the world's most welcoming cities for expatriates in 2026, sharing second place in a global study that assessed destinations based on safety, visa accessibility, and overall expat experience. The index, published by U.K.-headquartered expat insurance provider William Russell, placed Zurich at the top with an overall score of 9.06 out of 10. Although the nation has a relatively small migrant population of 2.8% and lower national integration scores, its capital remains one of the world's most welcoming cities.
