He then releases his parachute and glides towards the nearby beach as stunned onlookers watch on. Another man then follows suit – leaping from the still open window as children watch. A third man then jumps from the window and deploys a parachute before landing on the beach alongside his companion. The trio then pack up their parachutes and make their way away from the beach. Blackpool Tourism Ltd said the windows in the tower were securely locked and denied that the trio were able to open them easily. A full internal inquiry is reportedly underway with Lancashire Police involved. LMSD, however, said the “windows were far from secure.” The group added that: “safety and meticulous planning sit at the absolute core of everything we do.” A Blackpool Tourism Ltd spokesperson told the BBC: “On Sunday morning, three individuals posed as paying visitors to the top of The Blackpool Tower before parachuting onto a nearby building and the promenade. “While the footage may give the impression that they were able to open a window with ease, this was not the case. “All windows at the top of the tower are securely locked. However, the individuals brought a specialist tool which enabled them to discreetly unlock one of the windows. This followed failed attempts at several other windows.” The Sun has contacted Lancashire Police for comment. Comment now
