Mangione will bring more than three decades of experience in the sports and entertainment industry to Rutgers Athletic Department, where he will oversee the day-to-day operations of Scarlet Knight Enterprises. Among his responsibilities, he will be leading the organization’s commercial strategy, corporate partnerships, multimedia rights, premium experiences, ticketing initiatives and other revenue-generating opportunities as Rutgers continues to navigate the ever evolving landscape of college athletics. “Scarlet Knight Enterprises was created to accelerate how Rutgers Athletics generates revenue, builds strategic partnerships, and positions itself to compete at a higher level,” Rutgers Director of Athletics Keli Zinn said via a press release. “Fred Mangione is the ideal leader to help us achieve that vision. Fred has a strong history of delivering exceptional results for some of the most recognizable brands in sports and entertainment. His deep understanding of the New Jersey and New York sports and business landscape will be instrumental to our success.” Most recently, Mangione served as Chief Business Officer of the New York/New Jersey Host Committee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which just held it’s final game this past weekend inside of MetLife Stadium.
