Samsung brings Galaxy S26 AI tricks to the Galaxy S24

Sign in to your Android Police account In recent weeks, Samsung expanded the One UI 9 beta program to several of its older devices, including the Galaxy S24 family. While the first beta for Samsung's 2024 flagship did not introduce any new features, the second beta released today changes that. As spotted by Tarun Vats, One UI 9 beta 2 for the Galaxy S24 brings several features from the Galaxy S26 and Z Fold 8. This includes Call Brief, Now Nudge, My Fan Cam, and support for custom cards in Now Brief. Now Nudge analyzes the on-screen content to suggest useful actions automatically. For example, in compatible apps, it can recognize an address or an upcoming event and offer to open the location in Maps or add the event to your calendar. If someone asks you to share photos from a trip or an event, it can also suggest relevant pictures from your Gallery. All these suggestions appear above the keyboard, helping you act on a message without manually searching through other apps. New Galaxy AI tricks land on an older flagship Rear of the Galaxy S24 FE As for My FanCam, it can act as your personal cameraman. You select a person in a recorded video, and it uses AI to keep them in frame as they move. This way, you can turn a group dance into a solo performance without having to manually edit or crop the video. Call Brief is Samsung's take on Pixel's Magic Cue feature. It surfaces relevant information, like related calendar events or upcoming birthdays, when on a call. These improvements are rolling out to Galaxy S24 with the One UI 9 ZZI4 firmware. This update is only available to users who enrolled in the beta program. If you are not one of them, you'll have to wait for Samsung to push the update publicly. Since Samsung has been testing One UI 9 publicly for a few months now, the public release should be a few weeks away. While the Galaxy S24 is still missing several One UI 9 features, it's impressive to see Samsung bring some of its latest AI-powered features to its 2024 flagships. They help bring a taste of newer flagship Galaxy devices and bridge the software gap between them.
