Salalah event showcases major housing and investment projects

Salalah: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has launched the second edition of the Real Estate Exhibition 2026 at Al Hafa Waterfront in Dhofar Governorate, offering a platform to promote property ownership, real estate investment, and national urban development projects. The event runs until August 5.The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, who said the event reflects coordinated national efforts to highlight investment opportunities and showcase urban development projects that contribute to economic growth and improve quality of life. He noted that hosting the event during the Dhofar Khareef season provides an ideal opportunity to introduce integrated urban developments that embody the concept of “Living in Oman”, highlighting the Sultanate’s social, economic and development advantages as an attractive destination for both residents and investors.Held under the slogan “Living in Oman is Something Else,” this year’s exhibition brings together residential and commercial projects in one location, enabling citizens, residents and visitors to explore ownership opportunities, financing options and investment prospects while engaging directly with developers and industry specialists.Among the flagship projects on display are Sultan Haitham City, Future Salalah City, the High Mountain Project, Surooh integrated residential neighbourhoods, and Najd Agricultural City. Financing institutions are also participating to provide a range of housing finance solutions for prospective buyers.The event features broad participation from real estate developers and sector-related entities, creating a comprehensive platform that connects projects, services and financing providers to facilitate property transactions and investment decisions.During the opening ceremony, Oman Housing Bank unveiled the “Long Waiting List” digital platform, designed to streamline applications for subsidised housing finance. The platform enables beneficiaries to register electronically, monitor the progress of their applications and receive updates through a unified digital system, enhancing service efficiency and simplifying procedures.The ministry said the second edition builds on the success of the inaugural event, which attracted more than 30,000 visitors and generated over 1,500 real estate transactions worth more than OMR75 million, reflecting growing interest in property ownership and investment opportunities across Oman.
