Power Outages Persist Across Crimea, Strikes on 6 Substations

Parts of Russian-occupied Crimea remained without electricity on Thursday after damage was caused to regional power facilities and the peninsula’s main transmission grid.According to the Suspilne Crimea, electricity restrictions were in effect across the peninsula and unable to supply power to some communities.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.“Electricity cannot currently be supplied to some settlements on the peninsula due to damage to the company’s facilities and the main power grid,” Russian-installed energy operator Krymenergo said.The operator said outages were being introduced depending on conditions in different parts of the grid to maintain voltage, prevent overloading, and allow repair work to proceed.The disruption affected public transport in Yevpatoria, where trams did not begin operating on Thursday morning because of the loss of electricity, according to the city’s Russian-installed administration.Tram services resumed nearly two hours later after the power supply stabilized.The outages came after Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces reported striking six electrical substations across occupied Crimea on Tuesday and Wednesday.Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi said the strikes were part of a broader operation targeting 10 energy facilities across Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory over two days. Four other sites were located in occupied areas of the Kherson and Luhansk regions.
