Whilst information surrounding the brand-new installment is pretty scarce, there are some things we do know. We know that Pokémon Winds & Waves will be set in a tropical archipelago region inspired by Southeast Asia, and that players will have access to a myriad of underwater areas which will no doubt be home to plenty of Pokémon. Additionally, Nintendo has confirmed the Starter 'Mons, including the Grass-type Browt, the Fire-type Pombon, and the Water-type Gecqua. However, one leak claims that there will be over 300+ brand-new Pokémon to collect. Other than that, any other details come courtesy of rumors or leaks, and that includes the latest news that hints at the possible Legendary Pokémon which players will be able to collect throughout Pokémon Winds & Waves. Courtesy of Light on Twitter/X, the potential leak for Pokémon Winds & Waves reveals that the box legendaries for the game will include a Garuda-inspired Legendary for Pokémon Winds whilst Pokémon Waves will welcome a Naga-like mermaid Legendary. Of course, this is mere speculation, but it would make sense that the upcoming legendaries will have a focus on the elements, and so Garuda and a mermaid 'mon makes perfect sense. Not only that, but the leak reveals silhouettes of the rumored additions. As you can imagine, this speculation soon came with plenty of attention, and Pokémon fans took to the comments to share their thoughts. "Wait, Garuda and Naga are Indian words," one comment read. "There is a legendary story of the rivalry between Garuda and Naga where Garuda is the hunter of Naga... and both have a humanoid and God-like form." Another shared some more speculation, adding, "Since it’s a leak as of yet, I was thinking for Winds, the mascot would be a pterosaur (Quetzalcoatlus) titan (Flying-Dragon), and Waves would be a Mosasaurus (Water-Dragon) giant." However, another user was feeling less optimistic about the double release that Pokémon is known for. "Even if it's cool, I still ain't buying the Switch 2 since Nintendo is trying to push more sales for that," they shared. As mentioned, official information surrounding Pokémon Winds & Waves remains scarce, and so it is always worth taking these rumors with a pinch of salt. However, we can only hope that the news being shared over the next few months is enough to make our decision between Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves that little bit easier.
