Ombudsman doubts circumstances of Legarda’s ‘serious’ illness
MANILA, Philippines — Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano on Friday expressed doubt as to the circumstances surrounding Sen. Loren Legarda’s “serious” illness. Legarda first filed a medical leave on Aug. 3, days after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla announced that the anti-graft body is now probing the senator and Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste for plunder and graft.
