Muscat: Oman recorded scorching temperatures over the past 24 hours, with Al Sunainah registering the country’s highest temperature at 46.2°C, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).The CAA’s meteorological stations recorded temperatures of 46°C in Muqshin, while Hamra Al Droaa reached 45.5°C. Haima and Ibri each recorded 45.3°C. Other areas also experienced extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 45.1°C in Marmul and Dima Wattayeen, and 45°C in Al Kamil Wal Wafi, Al Buraimi and Mukhaizna. Fahud recorded 44.9°C.The readings were recorded during the 24 hours ending on Sunday, August 23, 2026, highlighting the intense summer heat across several parts of Oman.
