So far, only two official first-party Nintendo Pro Controllershave been revealed for Switch 2: the previously released Resident Evil Requiem controller and the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Joy-Con. It's kind of strange, as fans clamor for new hardware all the time, and there is so little of it to go around on the Switch 2 so far. As a result, tons of other accessories have been released for the Switch 2 in the past year, and many more are on the way. We will see more than just two official Pro Controllers by the end of this generation. We'll get something new before then, too. Now, due to a full reveal on Amazon, we know exactly what the next Switch 2 hardware redesign is. Officially unveiled by Power A, a new Pokémon Ditto controller is on the way,set for release on November 5, 2026, for $69.99. That's roughly $20 below the official Nintendo Pro Controller and $10 below the original Switch Pro Controller. Here's everything you can expect from the Ditto controller: "Iconic Design: This controller features a design inspired by your favorite Nintendo games and characters. Hall Effect Modules: Say goodbye to stick drift with contact-free magnetic sensors in the thumbsticks giving you smoother control, enhanced precision, and increased longevity. Advanced Gaming Buttons: Get an edge over the competition with mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons you can program on the fly, mid-game—no system settings to configure.Intuitive Motion Controls: Get immersed in your games with fluid, responsive motion controls that provide an intuitive way to aim, steer, fly, and more. C Button: Easily activate fun GameChat features. Rechargeable Battery: Get up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge. Includes an extra-long 10 ft. USB-C cable to recharge the internal battery.Ergonomic Design: Game for hours with a controller that feels great in your hands, thanks to cutting-edge ergonomics and top-of-the-line materials. Nintendo Family Compatibility: Works with the Nintendo Switch system of devices: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model and Nintendo Switch Lite. Officially Licensed: PowerA products have gone through Nintendo’s rigorous testing and evaluation processes to ensure compatibility with the Nintendo Switch 2 system." It's pretty fully featured, as the Hall effect modules allegedly cut down on stick drift, and mappable buttons are a huge plus for a ton of complex games ported to Switch 2.30 hours is a bit low compared to official controllers, as the full charge of Nintendo-published hardware can hit 40 hours or more for a Pro Controller. Still, it's nice that it works on Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and Switch 2, as is the standard with much of the Switch 2 hardware.Even if you're not a Pokémon, Pokopia, or Ditto fan, the controller is adorable and would make a great gift for anyone who just got aSwitch 2 but doesn't have many controllers yet. It's wild that Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company haven't teamed up for something like this, as Winds & Waves is likely a year away.
