Bloomberg News earlier reported on the fundraise. Multiverse Computing was founded in 2019 and aims to make the rollout of AI cheaper and more efficient for enterprises, shrinking large language models so they consume less energy and computing power. The Spanish government had already said it planned to take part in the round. It’s one of a growing number of startups promising to cut the ongoing expense of using AI models, known as inference costs. Companies such as as model marketplace OpenRouter, developer platform Runpod and inference infrastructure platform Baseten have all raised large rounds this year, according to PitchBook analysis.
