Moment hooded thief breaks into mother's cake shed and kicks 'honesty box' full of cash off wall

The thefts have become such a big problem for the small business, which caters for late-night customers such as night-shift workers - that they have now stopped accepting cash payments and close the shed at 9pm each day.In a particularly brazen theft, a man was caught on camera entering the shed just before midnight on July 19.CCTV footage shows the thief appearing to check shelves which are usually filled with cakes before turning to the box, which contained between £50 to £150 of cash, and viciously kicking it off the wall.Hours later, another person wearing similar clothing comes back and knocks the surveillance camera from its position. During the most recent theft all the cakes had sold out but, earlier this month, a person who appeared to be a child ransacked the 10ft x 4ft walk-in shed for all of its sweet treats.The 24/7 shed is the brainchild of Mr and Mrs McCann but the couple believe their small business is being targeted by a 'small group of people' who they claim are selling the cakes and using the cash to finance drugs. The couple believe their small business is being targeted by a 'small group of people'They have now started a fundraiser to pay for vending machines for the business which has received more than £500 in donations. Mr McCann said: 'We get a huge amount of night-shift workers, taxi drivers, we get loads and loads of forces, paramedics, ambulances, and we've got CCTV all over.'On a weekend, people on a night out at two or three in the morning, their girlfriends have said they fancy some cake - even when they're drunk, they're revellers, they've still been incredibly honest, it's been fantastic.'The issue we've got is there's a small group of people targeting us.'The couple haven't yet reported the latest theft to the police, but Mr McCann says they plan on doing so soon.Lincolnshire Police said its investigation into the previous theft of cake on July 14 is 'ongoing'.
