Marvel Makes Hardcore Design Change To Founding X-Men Hero

Numerous branches of mutant teams have tackled different philosophies to Professor X's first squad. X-Factor began as the reunion of the original five X-Men before evolving into several incarnations devoted to government operations, while the New Mutants and Generation X focused on training younger generations of heroes. More recent teams, including the Marauders, the Hellions, the Uncanny Avengers, and X-Men Red have expanded the franchise in wildly different directions that Charles Xavier didn't specifically predict when he first assembled Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast, and Angel. The original five X-Men themselves followed different paths. Cyclops became the X-Men's field leader and commanded X-Factor, led the revolutionary mutant movement during the Utopia era, and assembled several incarnations of the X-Men throughout his career. Jean Grey embraced the Phoenix Force, Beast joined teams like the Avengers and became a leading scientific figure, and Iceman evolved into an Omega-level mutant and joined teams like the Champions. Most notably, Warren Worthington III has embraced his transformation into Archangel and spent his time alternating between teams like X-Factor and X-Force. X-Force originally developed into the mutant world's covert strike team under leaders like Cable and Wolverine, taking on missions the X-Men considered too dangerous or morally complex. Years later, Cable is upgrading the team with a new line-up and new weaponry. Archangel And The X-Force Get Matching Guns Inglorious X-Force #10; Written By Tim Seeley; Art By Michael Sta. Maria Marvel teases the next installment of Tim Seeley's Inglorious X-Force with a cover that reveals the team's new weapons. Boom Boom, Hellverine, and founding X-Man Archangel wield futuristic railguns numbered from one to three, Boom Boom and Hellverine holding large rifles and Archangel holding two handheld versions of the same gun. The only member of Inglorious X-Force not to have one of these high-tech weapons is Ms. Marvel, who shows off her original "embiggening" powers instead. Before the significance of X-Force's new weapons is revealed, however, Cable's squad will have to complete a couple of difficult trials. Currently, the Inglorious X-Force are preparing a plan to prevent Ms Marvel's assassination in the future and find the culprit before in the present day. But soon, X-Force will have to deal with at least two major unexpected obstacles. Inglorious X-Force #8 will reveal the reason behind Cable's memory loss, which kicked off this mission in the first place. Then, the team will have their own Civil War-like inner conflict in Inglorious X-Force #9 before issue #10 sends them into the future and provides them with the ultra-advanced weaponry pictured in the main cover. Inglorious X-Force Is The Wildest Version Of The Mutant Team The Inglorious X-Force Features A Couple Of Perfect Mutant Additions Warren Worthington III is a founding member of Charles Xavier's original X-Men team, the X-Factor, and the X-Terminators, as well as a co-leader of the original X-Force and a co-founder of the original Champions. This impressive career makes Archangel a logical addition. Pairing a founding X-Force hero with Akihiro in his Ghost Rider and the Inhuman-mutant hybrid Ms. Marvel seems like the perfect final flourish to an already wild group of heroes. Hellverine's Hellfire, Kamala Khan's super-stretching and hard-light powers, Boom Boom's fireworks, Archangel's metal wings, and Cable's weaponry make Inglorious X-Force the most unapologetically extreme superhero team right now. This perfected X-Force line-up is only missing one piece, but the missing piece happens to be the heart of the team. Domino, currently regaining her memories, is on her way to reuniting with Cable and Archangel. By Inglorious X-Force #9, Domino will have assembled her own X-Force faction composed of Rictor, Shatterstar and Pug-Smasher, who will fight Cable's squad before the original Inglorious team is sent to the future.
