Today’s game takes us to Trondheim in Norway, where the Red Devils are looking for their first win of the new season. They suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat by Championship Wrexham last time out, as former academy product and ex-Reading striker Sam Smith ghosted in to notch the first and only goal of the game in Helsinki, Finland. Michael Carrick has taken over the reins of his old employers on a full-time basis after a successful second stint as caretaker manager, having succeeded the sacked Ruben Amorim, who was dismissed in January. The match against Wrexham saw new signing Andrey Santos get his first minutes under his belt in his new colours, while those stars that did not get World Cup call-ups from their respective nations also took part.
